It always feels good to catch the first fish of the year.

Hey coonriverdog it's good to hear the fish are biting down where you're at! I hope things get going here soon.
Good job coonriver. I slipped out on a couple occasions and flipped an ul jig around a bit. Caught some crappie but they were *deep*. I know, I should be embarrassed ;) but I like the flyrod a whole lot better when they are in the top five feet of the water column. :)
Glad you found some.
Both of you are ahead of me.
Hopefully I will get some action Saturday.

We're doing an open river this weekend in canoes. Mainly to check out the eagles and to breathe something beside cathair. Lakes still have 2 ft. or more of ice on 'em. Probably take a spinning rod and some cut shrimp for cats. JGW
