It's beyond comprehension, how some one as smart as I am (and so experienced, too!) - Could possibly bury this fly into his finger, clear to the bone (and a barbed hook no less!). And here I am driving back to camp, so my fishing buddy can take his pliers, and jerk it out .... real fast!
And here I thought I was casting so good.

A classic, human, case for barbless hooks. Nice fly though :)

Yep, a great case for barbless hooks, but fear not, you are not the only one who has done something like this (What? me too??). Just be glad it wasn't a huge treble hook from a bass plug. Now, that really hurts (or so I have been told). :)

Great double haul line speed ! A little more on the forward cast & could have snipped the barb off for a quick hook backout...
