The Classics?
We've had quite a bit on input on the Theodore Castwell story running this week in Lighterside, and I'm wondering how many of you would be interested in seeing a weekly
column of "classic" stories. And since I've opened another can of worms, what do you consider "classic?"

Not a bad idea LF. As for classic, I think any story worth remembering is a classic. Regardless of it's age.

Since I'm so new to fly fishing, I've missed much of the history that some of you other oldsters might still remember. So I'd LOVE a column of classic stories.

Sounds good to me!
Just hope you don't have to type them all in LF! Course, I am not a quick typist. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/smile.gif

Deanna, RW here
There are many definitions of classic. I think the one that pertains here as related to fly fishing is:
"a literary or artistic work generally recognized as of the highest excellence."
I think it is an excellent idea. There is a ton of great literature that has accompanied the sport of fly fishing from it's beginnings.

I nominate Geriech's "Fishing Car." JGW

We have a scanner which (mostly) recognizes test, so it's not a big chore...and we have a great collection of the old books, lots of goodies which we would be most willing to share.

Deanna;
I enjoyed the article and would like to see more.
-
Don't you need to get permission to post the works here? Would hate to see FAOL get sued. I'd love to see those stories/articles but copyright infringement can be a problem.
