For John Scott
I have been stuck in doors remodeling my rental home from top to bottom. Now first part of June, no biggy as the weather sucked, but now it is killing me.
So, I got over there at 7 this morning and got my painting done. Couldn't so much else because of the wet paint, so I headed for the hills.
Nice and cool and I had a blast. Even got a nice Chironomid that was still in one of the fishes mouth and it is in great shape, so thanks for the fly, and the good release on the rainbow so I could play with it.

Caught a bunch and all on nymphs. Very small Green Copper John
AND...my 7' 5 weight Bamboo with Sharkskin....LOVE IT!

So the sharkskin works well on the bamboo, then? I was wondering about that. Good to know. I've been debating putting one on my 6wt 'boo, but wasn't sure about wear issues on the agate guide.
-
Wow! That might be a concern. I like the line on boo but I also use Ridgeline and Selective Trout. I am not sure about long term effects.

You'll be fine with the agate and sharkskin line. Agate chips easier than a normal inserted stripper will, but when it comes it "hardness" which is where the wear factor comes into play truth be told agate is about the hardest insert material you can use. Just to give you an idea of hardness scale agate rates a 7...where as a normal Hardloy insert rates a 1...and a SIC insert rates a 1.7. So don't worry about wearing the agate with the line;)
Nice pics btw!

Fishing will only get better from here on out! I did the same thing last week.
Nice trout FG.

Well done, FG. Good to see you're getting out. I know the feeling of the remodel work as I'm trying to get my basement finished but keep getting interrupted by fishing and regular work!
Keep that toon pumped up and going somehwere.
