thread - Danville 6/0 black
tai/body - deer hair
hackle - grizzly

mash barb, start thread at 2/3 mark, wrap to bend

clean, stack, measure (gap width past bend) a clump of deer hair; tie in with 2 soft loops (pardon the thumb, painting kitchen cabinets), gradually tighten, allowing deer hair to encircle shank, lock down with tighter wraps

pull butts back, move thread to 2/3 mark, then pull butts forward, surrounding shank; tie down/trim
