Another trip with Peabody and Sherman in the Wayback machine; found this one, designed by Tom Cubbage, in Terry Hellekson's Fish Flies. Feel free to use your best hackle or the cheap stuff and accept the fact that it's gonna be a wet fly soon enough, no matter what.
hook - Dai Riki 300 #10
thread - Danville 6/0 black
butt/head - peacock herl
tail - moose body (2)
rib - x-small wire gold
body - Uni-Stretch Chinese red
hackle - brown (undersize by 2)
wing - calf tail
Part 1
mash barb, start thread at 2/3 mark, wrap to bend (looks like I have a nick in the bobbin tube)

tie in some peacock herl, twist around thread and wrap to point; tie off/trim

Nice job as always, Scott. I've been tying and fishing this pattern for years, and the trout seem to love eating it. I don't remember the tail, so mine don't have one. Learned it from a "FlyFisherman" article back when TR was president- or thereabouts.:)
