Maybe that's where I'm coming from but is anyone, except me, interested in promoting a "subculture" that devotes itself to fly recipes that use no synthetic materials. A singular exception might be the thread, nylon vs silk. My thesis is probably based on my age since I started tying right after
WW II, before there were synthetics. A theme could be: "If the material never walked, flew or grew on the ground you can't use it." (smile)

Hello Ray, I for one am all for joining your subculture. I've even used cotton thread for tying. To start things rolling, do you have something you use in place of tinsel?

I came into flytying long after you did. I am so used to using snythetics that I am not sure that I could tie without them.
I due use alot of natural furs and feathers, but I do lke some flash of many of my flies.
