Seems like a lot of the times I post to an existing thread, the thread dies. Does anyone else have the same feeling. Maybe I'll stop for a while..

That happens to me also . . . . I just thought I must always give the ultimate answer, therefore no more discussion is needed!! :D
Nah, Joe, it aint you. Now if I am going to hang around here don't you dare leave.:)
Eric, you always know where to get a hold of me.
If it is true, the thread should die right about...
...now. ;)
I think I've become the official thread stopper. You have a long way to go Joe.
REE
Got another fly fishing catalog from Cabela's today.
Lotech Joe,
Look at the time! You'll have to stay up really, really late, or get up really, really early to get in the last word! LOL!!!! YAAAAWWWWN!!!!
Best regards, Dave S.
Lotech Joe,
Actually, I thought I was the only person that caused this. I figured it was a carryover from when I was in school and entered a room and the conversation stopped;)

A little deoderant goes a long way of keeping people around you know..........................
Thread Killing Prowess
...and here I thought this would be about some fly tying innovation...
That doesn't happen to you or there wold not be all of these responses.
Rick
Well shoot. I thought I was the King of the Thread Killers!
Maybe we should have a contest to determine who should wear this ignoble title? :)
I notice that this occurs with me when I get in on the end of a discussion. If your post lands on page three or page four of a thread you may be the last post because everyone has already had their say and the topic has been beaten to death. 8T :)
Well if you don't want the be the last guy in a thread and want the thread to last longer...all you have to do is say something controversial or try to tick someone off. It works every time! :p
Never mind stopping a thread. I've gotten pretty good at that, it seems, but geez I can't even get replies to the threads I start.
I apologize for being so boring.:-(
Ha ha! I'm telling you...I AM THE KING!!
Check the thread I started a few days ago in the Warmwater forum about "my favorite crappie flies"!
66 views, and not a SINGLE comment!!
:)
Its like my sole purpose is to make OTHERS feel better about themselves! (...by saying,"At least I'm not THAT GUY!") LOL
FishnDave,
Geez, now I 'll have to go over to the Warmwater forum, just to see what all the hoopla is about! I may or may not post a comment? I would hate to throw the whole universal balance thingy out of kilter. Besides, I believe that comments in the Warmwater section are controlled by some weird space-time continuum anyway. Which is nice, because no one needs to monitor what goes on there. If you were the one to monitor it, how would you explain it, and WHO would believe you anyway? Yes, I realize that you enter the Warmwater forum at your own risk, and maybe that's why people don't like to divulge that they entered it by posting a comment. Just a thought! BTW, I'm posting this using cryptographic methods, so no one knows who is posting this. DANG!!! ,did my user name just come up at the top of this post? That was NOT supposed to happen!! That guy in the trench coat down at the corner guaranteed me it would work. Now, where did I put that quarantee he sold me?
Best regards, You (don't) know who.
Been back on FAOL for over a year now, after a long sebatical (not by my choice), seems when I post something, there are no replies following mine. Did I step on a duck? ~Parnelli
You make an excellent point. Just the act of casting a fly into a warmwater environment emits a telltale signal to others that...we just aren't right in the head! Its not all bad, when parents point and whisper to their children, "Don't go near that CRAZY man, honey!"
I want to have the last words on this one so here they are:
Have a great day everyone!
Thanks!!!!!!!
Just checking.
George
Hmmm, This being the informative thread that it is, I'd hate to see it die with only 4 pages.
Kerry, Good point, thanks.
REE
Curious to see who's name will be last on the "killing" post . Certainly, I've killed a goodly number myself!!
Betty I would bet not near as many as REE or Denny if you get my drift.....
Betty, you do realize what is going to happen, don't you?
Somebody WILL, eventually, make "the last post", then 6 months later somebody wll dredge up the whole therad again...
Of course, a moderator could cheat and close the thread to new posts after making the last one, but another moderator would probably just re-open it.
Ed
Maybe I could get my wife to come over here and post. She ALWAYS has the last word!!!!
Who'd have thought it would last this long. Seems like we're all trying to keep it alive. We REALLY need to go fishing.
Go Fishing? Now there's an idea with merit.
Steve, I would bet your right about Denny and I. We've had the last word on many threads. Those last words are "You just wouldn't listen, would ya?"
REE
I hate to be the last person to post on this thread, and you can't make me! Ha!
Best regards, Dave S.
Well Dave, you were the last one to post on Friday.
