A new LED Tying Light
Sorry to post so much, but I felt like I need to post this. We were at Costco yesterday and saw these lights. They are LED, flexible arm and light head tilts in 45 degree angles. Has probably 8-10 brightness settings. Only $29 at Costco. Is called "Ultrabrite". It does have 2 USB charging ports on the back of the base.
Anyway, I think this is worth checking into by others.

I bought one of these on an Amazon Lighting Pre Black Friday Deal for under $30. It has 5 different hues from 3000k to 6000k = Soft White (3000K), Bright White/Cool White (3500K ? 4000K ? 4500K), and Daylight (5000K ? 6000K). Each has 5 intensity levels = 25 different light levels.
I use it for my portable tying kit. It replaced the folding Ott Lite. It folds flat against itself and so it takes little space in my kit.

It is similar in form to the lamp in the video below but it has 5 hues and not 3 and the LEDs are illuminated across the entire underside of the lamp bar and not just part of the way.

Thanks Silver. The one I posted, and bought, is definitely not a travel light. It is quite large and has some heft to it. I really like it as my main tying light source!

How is the color balance on your new light? My previous experience with LED's, plenty bright but way to much blue. The colors on my flies just didn't look right and sort of hurt my eyes. I have been using an Ott brand fluorescent with a 'daylight' color balanced bulb and been very happy with it, except for the price.

On the one I got that is not a problem. As I mentioned, it has 8 or so brightness settings. At full strength it is like daylight. I also had an Ott light. Really like this one

Silver,
What is the height of that light? The data on Amazon says something like 17.5x7.5x26. It doesn't look like it's 26 inches tall. What does the 17.5 inches refer to-the length of the arm holding the bulb?
Thanks
Silver,
Never mind-I saw the answer on the "questions" area of the web page. Height is either 15 or 18 inches depending on which of the two answers was correct.

Byron,
Is this the same light that you got?

No,
As I mentioned, mine has about 8 brightness settings and has 2 USB charging ports on the base. I am sure if you look at costco online, you might find it. It is called "Ultrabrite".
I looked and did not see it on Costco's website, but have seen it on eBay although more than the $29 I paid.
The one on eBay at $10 more!

Nice light, but am I the only one getting a "War of the Worlds "vibe? :)

^^^ Nice reference. All that is needed is an endorsement from Tom Cruise.
