Super Bowl Swap
Super Bowl Swap
THIS SWAP IS FULL
This one?s in honor of this year?s Super Bowl Teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Seattle Seahawks.
Any style and size of fly goes as long as it includes a team color of either/both the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Seattle Seahawks. The official team colors are black and gold for the Steelers. For the Seahawks they?re a slate blue, navy, and bright green. Both teams also have white jerseys. Choose any or all of these colors for your flies. It?s ok to use other colors in addition to these as long as your flies have one of the above colors included. It?s ok to tie something that someone else is tying. Limit will be 12 tiers, including me. Create 12 of the same fly and send them in with toe tags, crush-proof container, self-addressed envelope with return postage. YOU MUST BE ON TIME with your flies. If you send them in after the deadline, they?ll be returned to you unopened and the rest of us will be bummed.
And NO FAIR tying them in Patriot green, Denver orange, or even Buffalo red!
Bonus points to anyone who actually ties their flies while watching the game.
To sign up, it?s first come, first served. All levels of tying experience welcome.

I'm in. I have no idea what to tie yet, but I'm in.
I'm going to make some type of a stimulator variation. Probably blue and green, in honor of Mike Holmgren. yes, I still admire the guy, even though he left Green Bay.

Welcome to the swap, bobbymojo and bassman. Thanks for joining.

I would like to join the swap. I'll tie a black gurgle-pop popper with gold legs. As long as "DA Bills" are not in it, might as well go for the Steelers. Actually I have some relatives living in Pittsburg.

I am hesitant to post here only because I cannot be part of the swap. Having said that, I am surprised no one is doing a black and gold Crazy Charlie in honour of the Steelers backup QB. Just a thought...
-
Flytyr45, welcome to the swap.
We're full.
Love that crazy charlie idea!
-
I'm going to be mostly away from the computer from Monday - Friday next week but if you should mail your flies, don't worry. Someone will be here to receive them and get them in from the cold.
But there's still LOTS of time. Just a FYI.
-
Got my flies tied. All I need now is the motivation to do the tags and mail the flies.

I received gqualls bluegill busters in the mail today. They look perfect for summertime panfish pestering around here. Thanks, gquall for the special enclosures. I'll be sure to put them to good use all season.
-
My blue and green stimultors are done, and will be out the door on Monday. Never made stimulators in this color scheme before, but they look like they could be killers. The steelers sure ate them up -- maybe that's good karma.

Thank you very much sunskyhooksnwater. Stimulators are a favorite of mine. A good fly to tie went you want to tie something, but not sure what.
Flies will be sent on Wednesday, Diane, along with a couple extra goodies that I owe you.
-
I received bassman's buggers today. Great Steelers colors.
Diane

I just received ridgeliner's gurglepops. Wait till you see them.
Ridgeliner... thanks for the gurgles. I'm going to take mine out to Taughannock Park on the west shore of Cayuga Lake and cast out to the bass just like you suggested. Just as soon as it warms up a bit!

That's the beautiful thing about this swap. There are no "slacker guys." There's on time and there's "you missed the boat." February's a short month, too!
-
DANG Diane!
Went into a panic....almost. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/smile.gif Feb is short.....but March will save some of us. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/smile.gif
