wooly bugger swap

Lets tie up our favorite color woolly bugger for the spring season - I will be trying up a cone head yellow tail and brown body size 8 - limited to 15 tyers - flies due April 1 - The more diverse patterns -the better the swap

Oh yeah! I love a good wolly bugger. Count me in with a little number I call a rubber baby bugger in black size 10. It is a great trout and bass pattern.

Great bass bait. I can tie my favorite; size 2 no lead white. It makes a good slow sinking worm and a great moving minnow both in the same cast.

I will tie some with ostrich, fuzzy fiber and dark brown hackle in a #8.

I'm in. I'll tie up some grizzly on white buggers, size 10 or 12. Had great luck with them last fall.

- thread is black Uni 6/0
- body is ostrich furl with dark brown Metz hackle
- tail is chartreuse maribou and pink Fuzzy Fiber. ONe or two also have an ostrich plume.
most of the flies have a strip of purple mylar flash.

My flies are in the mail! But they're not Arkansas Wooly buggers....I tied Vanilla Ice Buggers instead. Something new and lots o' fun! My fingers are still yellow from dying the marabou and hackle! Thanks for this swap.

Mike, I put my set of buggers in the mail Wednesday. You should be recieving them any day now. Thank you for hosting the swap.
The recipie follows:
Rubber Baby Buggers
Hook- mustad 9672 #10
Thread- Danville 6/0 black
Tail- Black maribou w/ 2 strands each side grizzly accents flashabou and a V strand of med. black rubber
Body- black and olive chanille and 2 sets of med. black rubber legs
Hackle- grizzly
Rib- small oval gold tisel
wing- small tuft of black maribou
Head- x-small conehead

Tied up 12 last night thinking that there were only twelve in this swap to send out today. Good thing I checked the board before I sent them out. I will get three more finished tonight and will get the flies in the mail tomorrow so they should get there by the deadline next Friday.

Had thought about putting them in a display box...one where people could see them easily, and I could take them out and use the patterns. There's really alot of skill and talent in our FAOL family! I'm truely still in the WOW phase of the whole bunch of you!!
