I will also post pics of flys when finished.

They are a closely related species, stretching the boundaries a little!

sent you a half dozen "duckstones" yesterday, keep any spares i dont need any back. duckstone is what i decided to name my ptottype stone fly nymph. the reason is, if you dont slow down your forward cast and open up your loop, you better duck.

the pattern is as follows:

hook: umpqua size 10 u555
bead: 3/16 copper colored slotted tungsten
thread: uni thread 6/0 olive
tail: olive goose biots
rib: spanflex, ginger color
abdomen: whitlock slf golden stone nymph dubbing
thorax: whitlock slf golden stone nymph dubbing
hackle/legs: spun sculpin olive pine squirrel
covert: mottled oak golden stone thin skin
head: whitlosk slf golden stone nymph dubbing

Went to tie my Clark's Golden Stonefly patterns and found, much to my chagrin, that I was out of 1 XL dry fly hooks. They came in the mail today and I will get them in the mail on Monday 5/18. Thanks for your patience.

Flies went out on Monday, returned today! "Need $1.00 additional postage."! I had the postal clerk weigh before I sent, the PO answer man said that maybe they didn't understand what I was doing/saying? Set for Wednesdays mail with additional postage. The way things are going, if all goes well that is, you should receive the flies by Christmas! :)

Did get a chance to go fishing yesterday and had great success, 2 trout in excess of 18” kept and better then a dozen released.

sounds good, i still have high water here, have had for about 18 months. i do get the occasional low water level and average 8 fish an hour been losing the biger fish lately, i pick up so much weeds and stuff that i end up with slack line and they shake the fly. it gets a little frustrating, couple days ago i had 3 good fish on, one even took me into my backing. got him about ten feet from me and i picked up a big glob of stuff and lost him. could be worse, i could br sitting on the front porch watching the water go bye.
