You should be ashamed!!!
I'm beginning to feel a whole lot better............
Here's mine!
not great photography, took with my phone in low light with the lamp on lol but I'll get better!
You should really be ashamed!!!
I have spent over 12 hours in the last two days looking for a particular bag of dyed goose shoulder... Still have not found it... It is not a little bag...
Pikers, by orders of magnitude, you are all pikers! ;)
I do not have even the slightest bit of shame, either! :)

Can't see to find my camera right now. I know it's on my tying desk here somewhere.
Hi JohnScott,
Yep, your bench looks pretty good. Yours looks like the "before" version of mine after I have been tying for a while.
My desk is pretty good concerning tying stuff now, as I had to clean it up because the grandkids were here, then I took the stuff with me on a trip so it is pretty good on tying stuff. The the rest of the junk, however, makes it look pretty horrible.
That said, I hope to start tying fairly soon, so it will be worse than yours in a while.
Regards,
Gandolf

My cats raid my bench on a regular basis, they ate my last partridge skin.
Anyone have a spare partridge skin for sale?
Hi stcroixguy,
Do you think one of the guys would be willing to trade a partridge skin for some cat fur? It might be a lot like rabbit, and you might post a color picture of the cat. (Just kidding.)
One of my daughters cats ate some of my hackle, so I have simpathy. Now when tying when visiting at their house I put away any natural materials, even if I leave the tying area for only a short time.
As bad as my tying bench is at times, I am glad that we don't have pets at our house.
Currently I am cleaning up my desk so I can get back to tying. Too many folders, books, papers, magazines, and just junk, etc., on my desk. If I get it cleaned up in the near future and start tying I will try to get a picture and have my wife help me put it in a post.
Regards,
Gandolf
I don't have a "desk" for tying. I use the kitchen table. I have to pack my stuff up when I'm done, just to keep the kids and the cats out of it.
I totally sympathize about cats getting into natural materials. I had an order come in over the summer, and THE VERY NEXT DAY one of the cats tore up a deer tail. They have also gotten a few of my feathers.
Uhhhhhhhhhhhh....can't find my tying desk.......it is somewhere underneath all the materials, tying tools, vises, etc. If it were clean, it would mean I am not busy, which means I would have no tying business. The big problem is keeping two dogs away from feathers, materials, and other tying stuff. The next big problem is keeping my wife and kids away from all my tying scissors. I need a top secret, hidden lab really. When, I start tying, my wife hollers for me wanting me to do something else (as well as ther kids). Then my wife ask me why I waited till late night to tie ??? Get a clue woman.....because you were bothering me all day (like I just snap my fingers and these patterns appear out of nowhere; luckily I have elves that tie some of the stuff like my Hydro-Psycho Caddis Larva). Sooooooooooooooo..........I lose..........my desk is one big chaotic mess !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This used to be a closet...actually it's fairly organized..

That's actually a great idea. I want to know how many bobbin holders you have............
I could. Looks fantastic! What is the printed photo on the lower left? Looks like a mayfly nymph?
Ok, here's a picture of my fishing room.

I tie at the desk in the far left hand side of the room. All of the drawers in the desk are filled with fly tying materials, while the rest of my tying materials are in the closet at the far right. The closet has shelves pretty much from floor to ceiling.
Pretty clean looking, huh? Now, do I win, or loose?
John
Well, you're certainly breaking out in front, you anal one you. Unless someone beats you, you will be receiving the "prize".
At the risk of a highjack but you the originator asked:D....it's actually a golden stonefly nymph that I thought was a little different...here's a link in case you are interested...

Okay. Okay! You guys are killing me!
So, here's a picture of how my desk looks right now, and has for the past few days while I've been been working on a new articulated streamer pattern. (I took the other picture a bit earlier.) My tying desk is actually a slant top secretary's desk. The top was up in the earlier picture, and here it's open when I tie flies.
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...psbaa0d749.jpg
The flies that I've been tying recently are articulated streamers about 5" - 6" long.
And here's a picture of my best friend, with one of the trout he caught on a similar streamer I had tied the last day we fished together on the Yellowstone this past September. In 2 days fishing, he landed about 30 trout on that streamer pattern, the majority of which were over 17". This rainbow was 21" as I recall. (The haze in the background was from the fires in the mountains shown in the background.)

You have to be an accountant".."........so anal, but it may pay off in this case!!
Wow, thats got to be a winner. Everything inside the desk is even the same color.
Here are some pictures of my desk for the contest. I think the 22 years in the military has had some effect on me. What do you think?

Scott,
Thanks for your service. And, yes, the First Sergeant would be proud!!
Hi Scott,
Extremely impressive. My only concern is that my wife might walk in and see the pictures of your bench. I could be in very serious trouble. I need to remember to have one of the other pictures pulled up if I leave the computer on FAOL.
Reminds me of Fred Bridge on another site several years ago. If anything his tying bench may have been even neater than yours. You and Fred must be two extremely organized guys.
Fred is a super good guy, but I had the same exact fear, that my wife might see a picture of his bench, and then I would be in even bigger trouble than normal. Fred used moonlight as a comercial tyer and developed some fairly well known flies.
At any rate, your get my vote for cleanist tying staion.
Regards,
Gandolf
Gandolf, Now that the pics are up, I can mess up, no wait I can't do it. Anyway, just make sure you have something up that might peak her interest like a trip to a nice location that just happens to also have great fishing in the warm tropical air. Hopefully I don't get you in trouble. I'd like to meet this Fred guy and see his desk, maybe I could learn something. Under my workbench are four large tupperware containers full of supplies that were just given to me by an old timer up the road. He sells produce which I buy religously because I believe in buying local. Anyway, we got to talking and we found out we both like to fly fish and because of his produce farm, he no longer has time to go out. He has just started digging out his old stuff and will have a vise, more materials, rods and reels and for Christmas I gave him a nice wall hanger. It was a South Bend 259 8'6" 3/2 Bamboo rod in perfect shape which he loved. Thanks for your vote.
