Just a reminder to try and get your gifts mailed so they arrive to your Secret Santa before Christmas.

I received your gift and yes, I did open it. As I told Jack, "To a true believer every day is Christmas", so I opened it when I arrived :).
Great looking bamboo handled tools, thanks a lot, I do appreciate them.

My "Secret Santa" gift was mailed out last week on Friday and the Post Master stated that the receiver should receive it this past Monday and now I am worried because it is now Thursday and the receiver has not posted that they have received it. I may have to make a trip to the Post Office and ask if they can put a tracer on it. It was mailed Priority Mail and Insured. I hope it is not lost.......
The incoming is here and the outgoing is gone.

Well, The Pony Express dropped off a package today! No sure when I will open it, may wait until Christmas morning, if I can stand it!

I am a little upset with the way things are going with the package I sent. According to my Post Office, when they did a tracking of the package, it arrived last week on Monday morning at 10:07am at the receiver's Post Office, but, the receiver has not received it and his Post Office personnel are not being very helpful. If he does not get any cooperation tomorrow, Monday, from his Post Office personnel, I plan to go to my Post Office and "stir the pot"! It was insured so either the receiver's Post Office comes up with the package and delivers it or the Post Office needs to make good with the insurance policy. I usually do not like to get involved with things, but, in this case, it is the principle of the thing. If the paper trail ends at the receiver's Post Office, then they need to find it or make good on the insurance.
If the package is not located and delivered Monday, I plan to re-order the item I purchased and send another package.
Maybe they're holding mail hostage now because the Fed is slashing Post Office jobs.. Just a thought. Luke

After much trepidation, my Secret Santa gifts arrived today.
Thank you WarrenP and all of your efforts to rectify the shipping problem with the USPS.
I, and I think Warren will agree, appreciate the efforts of the folks at the USPS to help us out.
As I related to Warren, when you think of the billions of pieces of mail they handle, these little glitches are bound to happen.

This has been a great day! The Post Office found the package I mailed to "bobbyg" and I received a package today from "kbproctor" that I just had to open and found this beautiful pen that Kevin created. The wood is olive wood that came from the Bethlehem area and Kevin turned it down in his shop. It is just beautiful! Please forgive the poor quality of the picture.

The mailperson came less than 15 minutes ago...my package arrived and was immediately opened. I admit my lack of patience.
Folks, I can't tell you what thoughtful gifts they are. My secret Santa nailed my hobbies and in such a personal way. I will cherish them always and be reminded of Royce ,my secret Santa, whenever I use them.

LaFontaine's Legacy: The Last Flies from an American Master. When I opened it I thought "That's nice, I can always use a little help with my fly tying." When I started browsing through the book last night I couldn't puy it down. Al and Gretchen Beatty have put together a GREAT book. It not only describes some of the flies and techniques of one of the legands of our sport, it provides wonderful insight into Mr. LaFontaine and their relationship with him. I LOVE IT!!!

What a great surprize when I got home today. My Secret Santa gift from Sagefisher was waiting for me. Larry, thank you so much for the beautifully personalized gifts. Larry sent me a terrific fishing towel beautifully embroidered by his wife with my name and a very colorful leaping LM Bass (in case I forget what one looks like when I'm out fishing;) and and a really nice flybox with my name engraved on the cover.

Kaboom sent me some great stuff! Furled leaders, I was needing a couple, leader floatant, a beautiful wooden fly box (nicest fly box I have!), and a container of "Kaboom's Magic Paste" that he says is fly floatant, but looks and feels like it could be a great mustache wax which I was also needing.
