I didn't want this Sunday to slip up on you guys, especially the younger one.
Remember NASCAR SPRINT CUP RACING STARTS IN DAYTONA.
Oh, yeah seem like there is something else happening don't remember what it is at the moment.

Go, Tony!
You are right, though. I seem to remember something else but can't put my finger on it.
It will probably hit me later.
I will probably watch the 500 this weekend though I lost interest in NASCAR when they went over to the current points format.
I think I have some paint that needs watching while it dries... ;)
i'll be watching a world war 1 documentary.
Can't wait for them to bin the wings. Now if they'd just lose the splitter, too! Then make the front end a aerodynamic brick, so it punches a big hole in the air. Goodbye aero push and back to racing instead of parades.
Kevin you're right, she'll probably hit you later.
Nascar is huge down here, I'm not really a diehard fan, once it get warm enough to drive in circles it's warm enough to float around in lakes and rivers. Besides it was more fun to watch when you could buy what they were driving. Granted it was more dangerous for the drivers too.
Come on up and help me watch the Super Sprints, Late Models and Thunder Cars at Port Royal, Pa. Lots of great fishing around the track too!
Enjoy the video as that is all we have right now. The speedway is under about two feet of snow:

"Living legends are those that will forever be held in high respect by those that enjoyed their excellence. This year?s ?Living Legend? Award was bestowed to Ron Eperthener, Sr. Though he was never fortunate enough to win a championship, he won many races and the Grove City native will always be remembered for his yellow #333 Coupes and Late Models. His son Ron currently competes in the Modified division and his grandson Matt Kocher, granddaughter Olivia Eperthener, and son-in-law Barry Bulfone have all raced in years past. The Grove City, Pa. is a driver that embodies everything good about Mercer Raceway Park."
That is my Uncle Ron. He is a really great guy who gives a lot to the local communities and neighbors. I spent many a day sitting behind the wheel of his canary yellow #333 late 1960's to early 1970's Dodge Chargers while my dad helped out with sales in the wrecking yard. My brothers and cousins either race or have raced at one time too so you see racing is in my blood.
Uncle Ron won a lot of races however the ones he didn't win, he usually finished in the very back or didn't finish at all. As you know the system of points rewards the consistent top finisher with the track championship. That is the way it should be. Uncle Ron always gave it his all and never left anything on the trailer. Diabetes and a stroke finally took him out of the car some years back but he is a wonderful 80 something gent!
On Sunday I will be checking out the contents of the See's Chocolate box that I bought for my wife (naturally I figure I deserve some of them as well:rolleyes:.)

After several experiences in racing, and understanding the variables being controlled (camber, tires, shocks, rear end gears, testing, ect) and watching a friend and driver get treated like crap IMHO by a major organization after several years working as an engineer for them and then deciding to try to drive on his own, I think it's rigged. There are way too many "lucky breaks" for drivers of a certain organization, the owner of which after pleading leukemia to avoid jail made it a mission to get a certain other cat stripped down to 4 teams. They ought to call it NASCARE like WWE. It's went to crap since the Intimidator died.

I was watching practice today, and if I was already in the race, I think I would stay away from those that are not i.e. Mike Bliss who wrecked about four good cars and his own. When the green drops all will be right in the world until the chase ends.
guys making nothing but left turns. WOW!! (I think there is one track where they make nothing but right turns??)
I think I will tune into the last 5 laps. Those are the only ones which matter anyway.
Just Kidding, y'all...enjoy what you enjoy
