I saw these hooks advertised. I've never heard of them.
I picked some up at a fly show earlier this year. The hooks do not have a true bronze finish, more gold than anything.
Does anyone have an idea who makes them? Anyone know where they're made?

I use Blackbird Sabretooth hooks for some steelhead flies.
They are a wide gape egg hook with an upturn eye and black nickle finish. Made in japan for redwing tackle of canada. www.redwingtackle.com
Not sure if these are what you are after I'll post some picks of the hooks and flies tonight when i get home.
I've got quite a few different sizes of Sabre hooks. Have been using some of them for a year now. I gotta say I don't know enough about hooks to be to critical but these seem fine to me. They come nice and sharp.
I have used Eagle Claw hooks on some of my warm water flies. (of course they need sharpening...unless you get the razor sharp ones..but they usually don't have a good selection of them in town)Quote:

Like Joe, I don't ever have any problems with Mustad hooks and use them for much of what I tye. I will plug Eagle Claw though, their LazerSharp L058S #4 and #6 streamer hooks are very strong and I use them for larger dries and all my wooleys and have never had a hook failure that I recall. Two built in bonuses too...great price point and wow, made in USA !

I say "made in China" because thats what the case lot said as i was help repackage (bag and tag) them to shop brand. I personally like Daiichi and Tiemco. And so do my customers.Quote:
