keep those pictures coming
Hey great pictures and as I forgot to bring my camera I hope people will keep posting Michigan Fish In 2008 pictures here so I can snag them. OR if all of you would be so kind you can E-mail your Fish In Pictures to me at timcr810@att.net and the would be greatly appreciated.
I may be cute ( see picture above of Uncle Sam and I ) but I ain't so bright. I mean really how can someone show up at a Mega Event such as this and not bring the camera.
All that being said I had a great week meeting the friendliest bunch of people, picked up some great tips, and actually caught some Trout, my first time ever on a fly.
I wont tell you about my last 1.5 hr evening fishing trip the night before I left as I am saving that story for an article I am writing about this GREAT FISH IN from a first timers point of view. Watch for it in the next few weeks hopefully on the weekly page at the Home site with the approval of JC and LF
Thanks everyone for a great time I will not forget any time soon. Hey is July of 09 coming soon.
Welcome home MI Fish-In Attendees!
Congratulations to everyone that attended the Michigan Fish-In! Looks like yet another terrific event in the history of Fish-Ins. One of the great things about FAOL is that having Fish-Ins spread out all over the country gives members a chance to attend a Fish-In without travelling excessive distances. We all have the opportunity to get together and put faces to the screen names, share some good fishing, eat ourselves silly, combine our skills, knowledge, and experience, and share the wealth. Fish-Ins sure are a good time, no?
This is just another advantage to belonging to the largest fly fishing family out there. Two people with a vision and foresight have found a way to share their experience and passion for fly fishing, and it has grown into something unique and wonderful. To JC and LF, I can only offer my humble thanks and appreciation for what you have accomplished!
Just a suggestion to the folks from the Michigan Fish-In:
To make things easier to view, and keep those great pictures available to all at any time, I suggest having one member that attended the Michigan Fish-In (prefferably with a REALLY FAST internet connection) designated as the "Photo Album Keeper". This person could set up a Photobucket album (it's free BTW), accumulate all the digital photos from everyone that wants to contribute to the album, and post a link to that album. That link could be included in the Fish-In section of the menu here for the appropriate event. Folks thinking of attending one of these events would have quick access to past years event's info AND all the pictures of them. All in one place!
For the person doing this work, Photobucket has a neat feature that lets you download large groups of pictures really fast - my connection speed is fast enough to upload the whole album in about a minute. It's also nice to have titles for the pictures, and again, Photobucket makes this a snap.
Just a suggestion......these memories are too precious to get "lost in the shuffle".
