Thankfully- everyone was obviously eating their fill, yesterday afternoon, when I was scoping out Ebay for something to do while waiting for the pie to be cut.
I ran across someone selling a small lot of fly fishing goods. A picture was included, but not a very good one.
But, one item in this lot sure looked "familiar" even though grainy in the picture. There was a reel, a bunch of flies, a net, pair of gloves and a few bags of materials.
I emailed, the seller to see about this "grainy reel" and a lady emailed back, telling me "it was her husband's gears, he'd recently passed away etc.". "He never got to use that reel, I'm selling, I sure paid a lot for it too! I think it's an "Apple something", brand".
No one, else, bid, I won the auction for $47.50. During the emailing back and forth, for shipping and payment info, the lady told me she'd since looked at the reel again and it said "Abel" on the reel itself and "There's some numbers and letters on it, too, that are "TR-2"."
I forgot to eat my pie!
