I think I just heard my wife scream and jump up on a chair.
Of course, she could have been reacting to the latest shades of gray, olive, yellow, and pink patches I died on her cat for future use as dubbing material.
Honestly, nice looking mouse.

Nice, I fish mice quite a bit for bass Large & Small on the lake near
me,
That one of yours would do well for sure!

Nice! It looks like a mouse! I could use some of those....
Very nice mouse indeed! What size hook etc hugefish_80? would like to try your pattern out for sure!!!!
Jeanne
Ingredient list for mouse:
Daiichi hook style 2461 size 3/0
1/4 inch plastic beadchain eyes (leftover mardi gras beads)
small scrap of thin soft leather for ears, tail (I got mine from tandy leather out of thier scrap bin for $2 per pound I think)
deer body hair
mono for weedgaurd
The only thing that I would do differently is that on this mouse I used 60lb mono for the weedguard, and I think it might be a bit too stiff. I think that I will stick with 30lb mono from now on unless I am tying for pike.
Thanks so much for the pattern - I feel so excited that i now have it. Will definately give it a whirl.
Thanks again
Jeanne
you're very welcome.
All mice are totally cool.
If you use them as the floating fly in conjunction with a dropper you can see which kind of freakishly predatorial trout will attack the floating fly instead of the dropper because it's a mouse. What kind of self respecing trout attacks a poor little mouse trying to swim across the river............hmmmmmmmmmmm but it's SO fun!
I think if I were going to try to tie one of these for trout I would have to downsize it just a little bit. This mouse is almost 7 inches from the hook eye to the end of the tail. Either that or find bigger trout....
