I'd like to be in on this swap. Will let you know later what I'm tying, if that's ok.
Diane
-
Please count me in as well. I will be tying a pattern called the eyelash leech. I designed it a couple of years ago and since that time I have found that it works well for SM, LM and bigger rainbows and browns.
Jim Smith
-
Count me in too. Fly is TBD.
Beeber
-
I'd like to play in this one. Not a smallie fisherman, a bit far south for that but mainly a largemouth fisherman. I'll tie a flashy Clouser that I had some good luck with if that's ok.
Tight lines,
bd
-
I'm in with a Gill Buster. JGW
-
I will tie some rusty crayfish.
-
Zac,
I've had an itch to try bass fishing with a fly rod. This might be exactly what it takes to really go for it. Put me down to tie a Pearl Marauder in a size 6.

I can do. Put me down for some popper action. I will paint the bodies red/white with some big'ol eyes and lots of feathers too.
-
I would like to join in on the fun. I'll post my fly this weekend.

Thanks alot bonedog ill be looking foward to them

This swap is going to make me very happy in the dog days of summer as I go after smallies here in the Finger Lakes. I love it that I don't have to sulk when it gets too hot to fish trout in the streams.
I'm tying some kind of a frog.
-
Bonedog and James Smith have their flies tied and in the mail. Pheasanttail65 has yet to post his fly

Seeking consensus. Typically I tie the Gill Buster in black. I can tie with about any color of zonker I have. What would people here prefer? Black works well for it imitates a leech, I'd guess. JGW
-
I have no idea ive seen them in white tail/black body and of course all black but i have never fished a gill buster. Also i would think that craw brown may work but i havnt seen it like that b4.

Glad it made it through the latest batch of snow. Tied it the first time at the local fly club instruction session. Also found it posted on the web with tying instructions and additional ideas as the Murray's Marauder at [url=http://www.riversmallies.com:a8d1b]www.riversmallies.com[/url:a8d1b]

The pattern looks like it will work really well where i fish for smallies in creeks and streams. O yah, thanks for the extra flies. I really appreciate it.
Thanks,
-Zac

I'm tied. I'll toe-tag 'em in the morning and have them in the mail tomorrow afternoon. Hope the arms of swappers fall off from fighting the swarmin' smallies with this one. Thanks for letting me play. Lots of nice memories. An early morning in those interesting rock formations on the James going through Richmond. Surprising the dickens out of a buddy on our local prairie-based Hawk Creek. A little St. Croix action near Prescott. Fun little fly. JGW
-
That sounds good White43 ill be awaiting you flies i should get them Friday or Saturday. I havent used a gill buster before. Be sure to send along your recipe or you can email me. thats easier for everyone. Thanks alot White43.

Hi,
My Foxee Clousers are going in the mail today.
Clouser Foxee Minnow
Size 8 streamer hook
Fox Tail
Copper Flashabou
Brown Thread
Silver Bead-Chain
Tie in thread, attach bead-chain to top of hook. This is tied like
a regular clouser. Tie in light fox tail (note: all underfur removed) on the top of the hook. Add the copper flashabou on the bottom. Tie in fox tail with black tips, leave in some underfur to tie this full. This fly is great for both smallies and trout. Hang on tight, because they will smash it!
Enjoy,
Bill

Thats Good to hear i will be awaiting your pakage.

Olive Gill Buster: size 10 nymph hook. Yellow thread. Hourglass weight, small. olive zonker strip. Very simple fly. Lay down layer of thread. Tie in the weight a third of way back from eye. Lay piece of zonker on the shank and slightly over the weight, then wrap thread all the way to the bend and back. Under the weight and create a thread-head. Easier to do than explain. Yet, an incredibly effect fly for all species. These are my first olives. Usually use black (caught just about every fresh water species) and white (crappie and walleye). Hope you'll have fun with it. I have. JGW
-
It sounds like it will work really well on smallies or even lm bass.
