Hi all. Thanks! My mom called today. She told me that she is grateful that I did not die on that December day in 1964. I wasn't supposed to live beyond 72 hours. I am the youngest of her three boys so every year I get the call about her Baby Boy is this old ....... That's O.K. because moms are allowed to do those kind of calls. Dads too.
I tried to come into the world sideways. Well, back then you didn't have all the great imaging and diagnostic gear docs have now. By the time the docs knew what was happening it was too late for a C-section. They had to turn me and I still have the mark in my skull from the forceps. Mom said I was totally blue, limp and absolutely silent. The docs said I was so oxygen deprived that I would not survive past 72 hours and if by chance I did I would be severely retarded.
As if all that wasn't enough 18 months later mom falls down a flight of steps with me. The doc, same one as that did the delivery, told dad my skull looked like an egg shell that someone had whacked with a hammer.
O.K. now you all know for certain what you always suspected. Eric is dain bramaged!
