Most anticipated trip/outing?
Ok folks, Along the same lines as the "Bucket List" but short term...What is the one trip or outing that you are planning or have planned for this year that has you day dreaming, tying flies and looking forward to the new fishing season? Not a pipedream or an "if I had unlimited time and funds", but a real outing that you will go on this season.
For me it is the annual "Spring Trout Outing" with my daughter. This will be our fourth year. The fact that she will be 17 and still wants to go fishin' and camping with dad makes this trip tops on my list. There will be plenty of other outings but that one is the one that I can't wait for.
What about the rest of you?
Take care,
Mike
It's All About the...People!
with one or two exceptions, there is a common theme in all the postings on this thread: I'm going fishing with my wife/brother/sister/son/daughter/grandchild/buddies/fish-in folk--you get the idea.
the trip that has me really dreaming these days will be with my sister-in-law. she grew up ocean fishing with bait, and her husband and sons all learned that and flyfishing as well. now the sons are big, and the house is full of this fly fishing stuff, so she's going to round up some of it and we will go out to my favorite river and have two days of fun. no husbands, no children, no phone, no cooking--and plenty of fresh air, beautiful natural scenery, and time with a person i really love and whom i see too little of.
is that Heaven or what?
Most anticipated.............
For me, it's our annual mid-Sept thru early Oct trip to Wyoming's National Parks, Grand Teton and Y'Stone. It's fly fishing for sure but even if they're not eating, there's always an opportunity to look up and around. Unfortunately that trip conflicts with the FAOL ID fish-In and ya can't get there from there ( full day travel each way). The trip would ,however, be worth it to watch Les Young fish and to really learn something. Actually, through the years we've met SO many great folks up there that it's become a gathering of about 20-30 folks from all around the country who happen to enjoy each others company.
And then of course there's the MI Fish-In ( made better if one beats JC to the last of the perch dinners).
