I put it on my must-tie list.
Blog post here.
Original Hatches article here.
Has anyone tied this? Experienced tiers, how much $ do you think this would cost to tie? I can't wait to start making these things someday!

Cool fly, looks pretty easy to tie. Cost? - ultrachenille, chickabou/marabou, 2mm foam and stick-on eyes are cheap; hook's going to be the most expensive component (those Gammys run about 30 cents each).

I'm not up to rats, yet. I haven't even managed a mouse pattern.
But I do have one mouse pattern on my "favorites" and I'm thinking I will tie one and try chasing some brown trouts later in the summer, and later in the day, with it.

Great looking pattern. I will be sure to add it to my box for my next trip out for bass. Thanks a lot for sharing this with us.

Neat fly. I have been playing with sculpin wool in dubbing loops for bait fish patterns. I have also been thinking of using it for a mouse/rat pattern with a spun deer hair head. Pretty much the same idea with different materials. Thanks for sharing!
Looks like it'll swim right
"Bumping" this to bring it up. Last season had some DYNAMITE takes on this beauty. Check it out!
