Mother, Old Man, and fly fishing

Tis a sad sad day ...... Can't even practice casting on the lawn (even though it's under a couple feet of snow). Any fly line is guaranteed to be stiffer than a soda straw in a mug of root beer.

Forecast is a tad better for the weekend .......... At least the BBQ is still goin. Time for the flannel, the tying bench and a wiffer of juice.

I got to work this A.M.and the boss said some of the hydraulics were down thanks to failed tank heaters.
So drive the kids to school,tie for an hour or so
then head to town for a interview for a new job,then head home and tie some more. Yeah it's gonna be a really tough day.

41 & foggy here! All the snow is gone again! Our ski resorts and snowmobilers are in a world of hurt.

I'm selling snowmobile. I still have the horse and sleigh. At least the horse can pull a buggy if the snow melts. 42degrees and cloudy here. Michigan?

Jonezee send that snowmobile this way. We have a nice crisp 25 and three inches of snow.

It was -34 C where I was working in the bush yesterday. I had to Go to British Columbia for a Mountain Pine beetle course for work. Middle of the Canadian Rockies, - 34 C, waist deep fresh snow and climbing up the side of a snow capped mountain.

Cold but not a breeze, and we were breaking a sweat busting upslope. Overall a nice day, but the open waters of the Athabasca river comming through Jasper National part kept taunting me nonetheless. The Guys thought I was nuts but If I had a rod I would have attempted fishing even if for a few half stiff casts.

Next Chinook, I'm there. Hopefully a nice sunny Febuary day and around +10 C would be nice.

Today -28 with a wind and too cold to work. Electronic equipment wasn't happy this morning so I get to tie all day when she's at work :)

A warm 19 degrees here today under bright sunny skies. Means tonite is gonna be a coooold one. Just found another busted water pipe, at the meter. Gotta go grab the shovel and start digging.

Thank goodness for Gore-Yex and Thinsulate.

Usually here in Indiana the lakes are frozen and a ft of snow,but this year we're up to our waist trout fishing in the ponds. Trout bass and bluegills caught on New Years day BILL

It's supposed to get COLD here the first part of the week. It's gonna be in the 30's all day Tuesday! I'm gonna freeze my tail off!

Gotta love livin' in SE Texas. I went to town with the top down on my convertible last night.

It was -20 on the thermometer at the house this am. It's up to -17 now. Waiting on a Chinook.

HA! we only had -8 this A.M.
But i'm rooting for the chinook also or the usual January thaw before the really cold weather hits.

the trout in penns creek were cooperative,
and the trout in the smaller tribs graced my fly.....and on top, too!
