Fianally got wadeable water on the Arkansas River here this morning. Only caught one striper but caught a dozen or so striper/white bass hybrids. Here is a pic of the biggest one

Oh nice fish. I bet it was a blast on a fly rod!

Excellent!
Tell me a little more about the fly. And, did you use a floating line?
I'm waiting very impatiently for them to start moving up here! Now you got me all excited :)
Great fish
Hi Steve, what kind of flies work on the wipers and stripers?
Thanks and regards,
Gandolf
I'm a big fan of Clouser minnows, especially the bunny hair versions, but they'll attack virtually any baitfish pattern from wooly buggers on up to saltwater patterns you'd associate with stripers and bluefish.
Dave,
I was using a #4 blue and white clouser minnow on a floating line. The water I was fishing was 3-4ft deep.

I was using a #4 blue and white clouser minnow. I have also caught them on EP baitfish ,deceivers, and mighty minnows. They seem to key on certain colors at times, so I tie them in blue and white, chartreuse and white, olive and white, and gray and white.

Great fish! I am still waiting to catch my first striper on the fly.
