Few toys for AuSable
counting the days...isn't it amazing how the fish in is so appropriatley timed to start the day before a major life changing event.
Here are a couple of toys that will be in the arsenal for fun and games at the fish-in...looking forward to finally putting faces to names, sharing stories, and favorite fishing weapons.

JC, he's just cheating so that he doesn't have to do all 6 sides!
Leo,
You are a true master. Both the quad and the glass are gorgeous. Is that an extra grip with the quad for a shorter set up? I was just thinking today about doing that with a couple of my 9'ers.

Hey Quinn, thanks
Yes that is a grip that allows the mid and tip of the quad to be used as a 6'1" rod and everyone that casts it loves it. In this case, the first snake guide is not used, but may be used as a hook keeper. I liked the shorter sections with a 4 wt sylk but the 5 wt WF Rocket taper made it very nice to fish and an absolute pleasure to cast. The shorter grip was just a whim...but it turned out nicely.

Lighting or not, Mr. Kusse's rod shines thru as a master-piece!!! After messing about with blue collar rods for the past couple years, I truly enjoy seeing such skill evidenced in the pictures of this thread. Thank you both for sharing!

Dloe, it is a "garnet" agate stipper. The cane it was built from is pre embargo and as you can see nearly flawless, I found one little water mark on the rod.
To see the real beauty of the rod you should cast it.

Buzz,
I can only imagine how fine that rod must feel. The quads have a feel all their own and when you get one like that one, it has to be and feel very special. There is little of that pre-embargo cane left and what is left of it is precious. You have one to be very proud of there, and being made by a legend in the business adds that much more to it.

Leo,
You sure do know how to provide "eye candy" to keep us all drooling! The 2 grip rod is unbelieveable!
Folks...the man does beautiful things to flyrods...you really need to come to Grayling, Michigan 8/14 to 8/20 to see for yourselves!
Leo...will see you soon!
