Sweet looking spot!!
that is my favorite brown trout water. (bigger water)
the skinny one below it is loaded with
eager little brookies.
5 months, wow that is too long for me. your kidding me? i mean what do you do during that 5 months? that is hard....
I had one of my best days of the year on a stream not unlike that small one. Catching nearly 30 small brooks & browns interspersed with the occasional 15-18 incher is a fun June afternoon! :) Thanks for the pics.
thanks Betty for the belly laugh this morning.
Gosh, Len, I can't decide if this is great pleasure or pure torment ! It was -30 something again this morning and spring seems sooo far off.
it easily could be 4 degrees here for my opener.
I go out no matter what.
spinner1: Great looking water, guy!!!! Good looking place to spend the late afternoon / evening at
I have a 6 month off season. I make it easier by going ice fishing. School makes it go by a little faster but not much
I have fished in Iowa some over the years.
Their fisheries are not anywhere near the quality as Wisconsin's
I have tried ice fishing with friends.
Ice fishing for them is more drinking than fishing.
I have done some big lakes fishing and tributary fishing.
The water is so huge and lacks the personal feeling of my home water.
There is something magical about the area I fish. It is so beautiful and it has
a calming effect. The small streams are puzzles and I love the feeling of them.
I can see how how people romanticize about trout fishing. I do it every time
I go on the water.

I did not notice any one congratulating you Wiscousinites on the Badger's bowl win. THe QB for the Uof W is a pretty good ball player.
I will admit for the first time I remember I will be pulling for the AZ Cardinals against the Pack this weekend. I have been a Packer fan ever since the Saturday Evening Post had an article about Jim Taylor, back when fullbacks were not just fast guards.
Len, you don't need to be a Wisconsin flyfisher for this to drive you crazy! You've managed to do it to this Idaho guy also. Thanks for the pics and commentary, you've truly got a gift. Keep it coming.
Kelly.
Groan!! Lord, give me patience, and give it to me right now!!!!!!!

It follows the tree line.
It is 14 inches across in most places and about 2 feet deep.
It is loaded with neon colored brook trout.
Can you see them Betty?

Does snow make it look less appealing Betty?
A nice little Brookie at every turn (drool, drool, drool). Now it's become painful for many more of us!

Ahh won't be long now... We can fish year round here, but, THE TEMPS BRRRRRRRRR
Waiting like you guys and 57 days seems about right for us to have temps just right...
