Wow, nice boat...
Thanks Tim... she is one of the original Bertrams, curently undertaking a complete rebuild from ground up. I have nothing to do with the restoration so it should come up good! She will be set up for blue water (tuna.) She will be 7 meters or 6 on the waterline, and power is a 200 hp inboard Mercruiser, can't wait for it! Susan is not happy that someone would do something like this at ther same time as a drastic income cut. Oh well, waddya do?
"Oh well, waddya do? "
waddya do...live on the boat, because that could be your new home, young grasshopper !
Say, goodbe farm, hello boat house ::-(
What year model was your new home built ?
Floor, new floor I hope
and did you raise the floor level as they are far too deep and make fishing some what hard, to say the least.
Your nicest Uncle,
UB
I am sure that I will be sleeping on the boat quite a bit Barry, until things settle down!
Ah Gringo you just did what I'm considering. I'm two years out of college and making 90 grand a year (a pretty good accomplishment if you ask me) but I work 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. I also work the night shift....either 7 pm to 7 am or 9 pm to 9 am. Working like this has not been very good to my social life, lost a long time g/f and practically only see a few friends here and there on a 2-3 month basis. My mother keeps pestering me about getting married and finding a normal job but I just couldn't because of the money I make. Well I just put an app in for a job that only pays 29 grand a year and if I get it i'm quitting. The major major downside of the job is I have no time for flyfishing though!
Mate it is an extremely good accomplishment and you will always be proud of yourself for it. Life is about choices though: you can chose the money road but it ain't necessarily the same road as the happiness one!
Of course now I am middle aged and have always earned decent money so I can sit on my laurels a bit now, but maybe it is now that the choice is all the more important.
Let me know how you go?
I'm thinking real hard about quitting this fall then taking a few months to visit South East Asia again.
Ya better drop in then, I'll put the kettle on.
