It would be wrong to start jumping to conclusions based on one bad apple about everyone else. More importantly, generosity is never wasted. We get as much from trying to help others as we do from being helped.

I know you post on the Southeast Forum as well, any idea if the mods over there are aware of this?

Hello Everybody...
As per the requests of a few here on FAOL, I am weighing in on this thread, if for no other reason than to protect and keep what I hope is my good name and reputation here among many that I'm honored to call "friends." I don't plan to sit in judgment of the actions of the very few, other than to say that I'm truly disappointed by the actions of the individual in question.
Throughout my time here on FAOL, I've gotten to know quite a few of you, and you've become something of an extended "on-line" family/sounding board for me. For many years, I never talked about my battles with cancer, and I try not to dwell on it now. But, it is what it is-- a big part of my life over the last 15+ years --and those of you who sought me out and shared your own stories about the disease helped me to realize that people cared and that people wanted to help in any way that they could. And, along the way, whether it was a kind word of support, a basketful of blessings, or the occasional "fly surprise" at my doorstep, I hope that I've been diligent in letting you all know how heartfelt my gratitude was and thanked you properly. If I was remiss by omission, it was never intentional. Sometimes, things don't work as well between the ears these days as they once did...
And, to all who've purchased something from me, I pray to God that I've extended my own sort of generosity and that you always received more than you expected. You've all freely given of your friendships, your generous spirits, and your kind hearts. If you take nothing away from this posting, please do me this one favor-- don't ever change!!! Don't let the actions of the one taint the overall goodness of the many. FAOL has the feeling of home and friendship, and I don't want to see that aspect of this site allow itself to be altered in any way, shape or form...
So sayeth Jerry, hairwing530 on this night, April 30, 2013...
Jerry,
you don't ever have to worry about your good name and reputation here. It's because of people like you and so many others on this board that this board "won't ever change" or taint itself because of the actions of one or two.
Best,
Steve
There are many of you here on FAOL who know me better than you'd probably like to, and some who don't know me from the proverbial Adam, and that's OK. But, when you allow me into your lives, here's what you'll always get from me:
You'll always get an honest answer to a fair question...
You'll always get more than you bargained for, but only in the best of ways...
You'll always get my heartfelt appreciation and deepest gratitude, if ever I ask for help...
You'll always get the whole truth, and nothing but the truth...
You'll always get a small piece of me, sent in every PM, e-mail or package that comes from this house...
You'll always get a ready ear, a strong shoulder, and an assist from me, if and when you need one...
And, you'll always get my friendship in every way imaginable, even if the distance between us is great...
As I close in on a birthday that the oncologists said I'd never see-- the Big 60 --I've become more protective of good friends and doing the best I can to keep those "kinships" prospering. Friendships are like anything that grows... You've got to keep working on them and cultivating them for said friendships to blossom to their full potential.
My grandfather was Scot/Irish, and the Scottish clan Kincaid's motto was/is "This I Will Defend..." That's how I feel about the friendships that I've built here on FAOL...
Be well, my friends, and tighten a line for the Old Guy up here in northern Michigan... Jerry, aka hairwing530
I Pm'd the SEFF board owner. They are on to it now.

The lastest post on Newtyer1 on SEFF shows photos from his Facebook page riding his motorcycle, rafting the Colorado River and touring Europe after claiming to be disabled and destitute.

Hs anybody ever thought that if this guy is a true scam artist, he may be using someone else's name and picture? H could come back on anywhere using the same? How are you gonna know if the dude comes back, except by IP address???? And those can be changed by using free wifi elsewhere....
Just checked out his facebook page, and I feel dirty! He has pictures of the rod Kevin built for him that makes it appear to be of his own making. Many of the pictures were pirated from others, with the "feel" that they are his own.
