I'd chose a Cabelas Three Forks 763 (7.5' 3wt).

6'-7' 3/4w fiberglass rod. McFarland, Steffan Brothers, Diamondglass, Lamiglass, Scott, T&T, Fenwick. Soft rods, less expensive than cane, enjoyable to cast, loads up easily. Set's a fly on the water like an angels whisper.
Try one, you'll like it.
Tyrone, 6"-9" fishies!!! Go with the smallest rod you can find, weight wise. Give the little fellers a chance. I think 6-7' would prolly be acceptable if you can cast it 20-30 feet. I'd rather be able to feel 'em pulling and see a little bend in the rod.
I went out this afternoon and was playing with my 3 weight St. Croix. I am just getting into fly fishing and had a real good time.
I caught 8 little rainbows that were 7" to 9" out of the Susan River.
Then I hooked a bigger rainbow that I would guess to be around 2 1/2 lbs.
It took me over 10 minutes to get him close enough to me to net.
My 8 year old had alot of fun watching.
He was throwing a lure around and not having much luck.
I hooked one of the smaller rainbows and let him land it.
I caught all of the rainbows with a bead head hares ear #14.

A 10wt spey rod would be ideal.
Seriously, I fish small streams with a 7.5' 4wt, but a 3wt would be fine. A DT line would probably be better for all the short casts and roll casting I do on small streams like that. But I think the 4wt with a WF line gives me more flexibility with that rod...the ability to also use it for panfish on bigger waters.
I use an old Garcia 6.5' glass rod with a 5wt line
The old glass rod is tough as nails for bushwackin' and the 5wt line loads the slower action glass with only a few feet of line out.
Best way to go IMO
lots of different opinions!
mine would be a 7ft 3wt or a sage 00 :D
i really love my little cabelas clear creek 7ft 3wt
