UB, there are no rules, nor is this species-specific. If you joined, as of today, you would need to submit 8 flies. Since we have a week remaining in the sign-up, let's see what happens. Are you casting a fly into the mix? Otherwise, the "rules" are in the original post. The only thing that makes this swap different than the others is the postage thing. Basically what I doing here, just for the international flavor, is if you swappers get the flies to me I'll take out a loan (if I can find a bank that can actually make one over here) to send them back! Perhaps it will depend on my tax return!!!! Otherwise, check out the great advise Bassman has for entering swaps. It's all there. Thanks. JGW
BTW, my son is presently living with his girl friend in Broken Hill, and about to head to Perth for ten days before doing that safari up the Western coast. I'm just so envious!
Hey Uncle when I finally decide what I am going to do I will drop a banknote in the package to cover return. What are you going to tie?
White, your son will be seeing his fair share of nothing! Broken Hill is an awful place but I am sure he has told you that! Perth is magnificent but a lot of sand between destinations. He will have a great trip. Is his girlfriend Aussie?
Good evening,
Master Gringo, and Swap Master, ok count me in.
What will I build ........
Lets think, what about a set or two of size 20 soft hackle wets, pearl glow in the dark body with starling soft hackle.
And a set of size 22 light blue/grey winged duns.
Swap Master, as I do dont have access to US dollars I will include a sampleing of our products, to cover freight, if thats ok ?
If not I will work something out with you, on a PM.
Trust this is ok ?
Kind regards
UB
Welcome Uncle Barry! Gringo, my son left a decent job as manager of an upscale restaurant in Minneapolis to follow the woman of his dreams to Broken Hill, and he said she did a dramatic switch on him once they re-united in Broken Hill. Hence his trip to Perth, to visit a former exchange student of ours for about two weeks, then he'll do some safari thing up the West Coast. Then it's back to East where he has decided to do the entire backpacking thing up and down the East Coast. He is really hyped about doing that train from Broken Hill to Perth, but not so much that he isn't flying back to Adelaide on hist trip back to the south. All I can say is that I hope he's journaling all of this for future reference. It'd be such a waste to let all those thoughts and impressions flit through the mind without being recorded. JGW
Good morning W43
If your son happens to get around to my part of this country in his travels, email me ;)
Kind regards
UB
And likewise! I am in the south east and if your son would like to kick back for a few days on the farm to rest and recover far away from the stresses of travel, he will be welcome. UB lives in a very nice part of the country too so I would take him up on that!
Still dunno what to tie......
Thanks to both of you guys! I have passed along the link to this thread so Aaron can get back to me. I'll get his information and pass it along. This is the true spirit of traveling, of this site, and hopefully of mankind. I'll go to bed smiling tonight. This is just really cool. JGW
You son will be welcome. I know what it can be like travelling and sometimes it would be nice to just kick back for a few days, sleep in, not worry about the stuff you have to go and see, or the money you are spending on the room! Who knows he might get to pay me back some day!
Good evening,
I've just added 8 x #18 light green/soft yellow caddis grubs to my 'to be sent' list.
Yes, I know there are only 8 to be sent of one pattern, the extras don't matter, the joy is in sharing and giving.
Kind regards,
UB
