Glad you got your YELLOWS in the mail dan and sjo. After what has transpired I am a little nervous about the US mails!
My Blues are on the way Kim. Got those great yellows!!
Glad to hear that Flygal.
Two bits of info. for everyone -
1) GREENS have all arrived and are going in the mail today (see the pictures below), and
2) I will be off-line for the next 3-4 days (after MANY DELAYS I am finally going in to have my &%$#!! gall bladder removed!)
OK, OK so I was the one guilty of colorful language!
GREEN flies are in the mail today. Pictures are below.

A couple hints - white cotton thread laid as a base covering the kink and to tie in eyes. After eyes are centered soak with CA glue - Superglue, Zap-A-Gap, ... Also, I normally tie these in bunches using 3 steps - 1) tie in eyes using cotton thread then 2) tie in flash and white bucktail using white 6/0 and 3) flip hook and tie in rest of bucktail using olive 6/0.
Kim, will try to get my blues out after this weekend. We with the storms and tornadoes and helping friends that lost their home in Joplin things have been crazy.
Glad to hear you are OK, Flygal. MY hopes and prayers are with ALL those affected with the spring storms.
Hiya Y'all.... I got my greens back the other day, & tried IBRB's "Green Weene" on some crappie at a nearby lake Sun. No takers, but it was rainy & windy, and they didn't want anything else either. I'm pretty sure next time around they'll feel differently about it.
Excellent flies from all a y'all....................................Dan I like this continuing swap idea, how's about the rest a ya ?
I like it very much!!!
Sjo
Dan, glad your GREENS OK. Did everyone else get theirs? With the weather challenges between me and the rest of you in the central and western states I was concerned.
Also, surgery went well so I am almost back to my normal self - THANKS to all of you for your patience, understanding and prayers.
My blues are not gonna make it in time due to material problem. I'll let you know when they go out!
Sjo
No problem sjo - Thanks for the heads-up.
Blue hackles are in backorder, I'll do another pattern, I was thinking Teal Blue and Silver, but I can't get the blue hackles.
Sjo
I'm about to ship my blues.... I want to ship the vioets at the same time Sjo, have you ever used the blue saddle feathers on a ringneck pheasant? they're small, but I'm usin 'em for wet hackles..........................ModocDan
That's a good one Dan. I got one lying around, so that is a solution! Thanks Dan!

Thanks for all your efforts during this, my first, multi-month swap.

wwkimba - Purple Marabou Streamer (Variation #1) - HOOK 6X long streamer size 6 (TMC 300), THREAD - black 6/0, UNDERBODY - .30 lead wrap on front third of hook, TAIL & BACK - purple marabou, BODY - purple rabbit dubbing
HINT: First lay base of thread then wrap and tie in lead wrap (I seal lead with nail polish or Flex cement) then dub body front to back then tie in tail and body. When tying on tail & back very lightly dub tying thread and tie in clumps of marabou (it will take 4-6 clumps). Also, if you find you are crowding the hook gap, substitute a 4X long streamer hook one size larger - i.e. - I could have used a size 4 - 4 XL streamer in this tie.

Purple Marabou Streamer (Variation #2) - HOOK 6X long streamer size 6 (TMC 300), THREAD - black 6/0, UNDERBODY - .30 lead wrap on front third of hook, TAIL & BODY - purple marabou (tie in tail then twist remaining feather and wrap directly on hook)
