Just recieved some great flies from Bjanzen. Thanks for joining up

I'm guessing you havent recieved the Bee's yet, I sure Customs didnt conviscate them for the $5.00 bill I put in there for the return postage to Virginia. Its been a couple weeks now.
Sometimes it takes a bit longer, I'm sure they will be Anyday now.

Hillard,
My flies are going out in tomorrow?s mail. I though (wrongly) that I could include some kind of international postage stamps to cover the return. The USPS set me straight. My solution was to include a Canadian Fiver I had left over from a trip across the boarder a few years back. Hope that cover the postage. Let me know when they arrive. Thanks for hosting the swap.
Sounds great, the 5 dollars will cover your return postage.

Recieved your flies on Friday, Just never got to open them till today, Great job.Quote:

Well work will definatly interfere with me being near a computer or mail box anyways, chances are I can find somewhere to fish during the evening at work. April may find me in a logging camp in northern Alberta, not sure yet what the big project entails.

HMD - I have a dozen of the leadwings tied but I am going to tie another dozen and keep the ugly ones for myself. I will get them out by next Monday at the lastest. Hope that is okay.
Here is a picture I found on the web of the McGinty:

My ugly Leadwing Coachmans (ULC <g>) went to the USPS today. Airmail, gift, "fishing lures".
Hope I didn't mess up the shipping too. Hillard- it was only $3.50 or something like that. I included a five-er for return shipment, and a label. I don't want change back.
Thanks for doing the swap. I think I owe you all something nicer <s>
Aftershaft, I just recieved your flys today, THey look great, my first few wets I tied didn't turn out that well ;)

Hillard:
Flies going out to you in the AM. Please let me know when they arrive. I have included my return address and six dollars for shipping them back. Keep the change and thanks for allowing me to participate.

Hillard:
The flies were mailed out at 11:00 AM my time going first class to you. I was told by the post office you should have them in three tio four days. Please let me know when you get them.
Thank You
Andy B
P.S. Thanks for hosting.
Great for letting me know when you shipped.
Due to unforseen project with my work I will be out of Town MArch 19th till the 29th. I will not have access to internet as I will be working out of a remote logging camp in Northern Alberta. I Will not be able to keep up with posts on the boards but will get this swap out as soon as I have all the flys when I get back.

I'd still trade my job for yours!Quote:

Still got 25 years of this forestry thing till I even think about retirement. As long as my new work position doesn't cut into the number of days I see the water this year I will be happy with my new company. AT least my old boss is still my boss so I don't have to prove myself all over again.....and he knows fishing is very important to my happyness. I'll be the first to be sent to live in a camper streamside this year I can see it comming, so I doubt I'll not see my share of fishing in the evenings after work.

Sounds like you are making plans for a great life.Quote:

Hi Hillard:
I just got back from Florida on a little weeks vacation. I am inquiring if you have received my flies.
Thanks
Andy B
bumpity
I am really hoping someone posts pictures of the flies for this swap. It sounds like there are some fine patterns being tied. Sorry I missed this one.
REE
bumping yet again.
I keep getting sent out to the field for work so I'm alittle behind with this swap. I will sort through what I got and update sometime this weekend. It's past due as is but I will give it till the end of the month for any late arrivals.
-Hillard
Hillard,
I received a package today. It appears that you sent me the flies from one of your other swaps. (Pike streamers?) Now what?
gadabout
other than the swap I just entered this will be the last swap I participate in at this site.
Mr. Blur,
Why? If as I suspect you're frustrated by the wait and delays with this swap I suggest you be patient. Since it's an international swap (even though it's only to Canada) some delays are inevitable. Some folks were not as prompt in sending there flies in as you and I were. From what Hillard has posted it sound like he has a job that takes him out in the field a lot and I guess that's had some impact on the communications.
Sorry your experience with swaps on this board hasn?t been positive. I've had just the opposite experience and will continue to try and play with the folks who are willing to give their personal time and wrangle a swap. Sorry it's not been good for you. I'll regret not having your contributions to look forward too.
:D Am I to understand that this Swap has been shipped , or is there some kind of mix up, for I have not recieved any flies from this swap. Thank you
My guess is that this swap has not been shipped.

I am so sorry to all who have been waiting for this one to go out, It's my fault that I took on more swaps than I should have at one time. I was counting on things running smoother than they did. If everything would have gone according to plans everything would have gone smoother, but work got busy and flies arrived late, I got shipped away from civilization away from computer or post office for work. It's been a hectic spring with work which was not anticipated, my employer got bought out and we merged with a much larger company and my work schedual got turned upside down. I have been away from home more than I have been at home in the past 7 weeks.
As of this bunch of swaps I am done with hosting swaps due to my new job responsibilities, I have had fun with them, but I don't not have the time I did 3-4 months ago and am travelling too much to commit the time I did with my previous swaps.
I will continue to join swaps here on FAOL as I enjoy them, but I will not host another until my workload slows down again.
-Hillard
Just recieved a great set from PAul W today, there is one set left in the mail but it was sent a while ago, I assume it is lost but I have contacted the swapper for thier shipping address to send them a set if everyone is ok with that. I will get this one packaged up this week and mailed on the weekend, Once Again I am sorry for the delay, work has taken over all my free time.
-Hillard
hmmm...when was the deadline on this swap?
this one has left a bad taste in my mouth.
:( This is my last swap on this site. Not only has it been frustrating to send my flies out to Canada, but my flies are somewhere in the world and I lost a nice fly box. I tied up some nice flies and protected them by using a better fly box. Still the swap has not been sent out and this is a little crazy. The flies I sent for the dry fly swap made it in two days. I mailed my flies out back in March. Now it's May and I have no flies to so for it.
Andy B
Mr. Blur, I am with you on this one.
I am also very soured by this experience. This is only my third swap and will probably my last. Only one out of three has gone well.
I've hosted many and been in many swaps on this site. I will still be. I'm not in a big hurry. Keeping to the deadline should be followed though.
