It took me a couple of years to learn to cast with either hand but I learned with the help of a FUTURO wrist brace (all neoprene with thumb hole -- no hard parts).
This helps keep your wrist in proper casting position. Start with short soft casts with no haul.
This may or may not be "on topic" but: I cast right handed, switch hands to wind the RH reel, switch hands again to strip line and again to play a strike ........ NO WAY could I cast left handed EVER.
