Okay after searching through my tying swag this is what I have come up with. My first ever Winged Wet.
Please critique it for me. Remember this is a first, so be gentle! Attachment 10628Attachment 10629Attachment 10630
I would say it's pretty nice. My only thoughts would be to use a shorter shank hook which in turn would call for a shorter wing. They just look more traditional that way but it's not a hard and fast rule. Overall I think it's got all the makings of a fish catcher just like it is and I think the trout will agree. Congrat's on your first winged wet , great job! It look's way better than my first.
Flies went in the mail yesterday. A challange for me to do.
Hope you like what I could finally make look decent.

They look pretty good to me, Ice.
Flies received Rick Z. What pattern is it?
Catskill variant. I tied it with yellow floss instead of aorange.

Thanks Rick and nice job. How's everyone else doing out there? This thread has been very quite as of late.
About halfway there.
I know there is a reason I like tying nymphs - these take a lot longer.
