Mike,
You have my prayers and I know they are heard. Pass our best wishes on to your Dad and as soon as he is able let him read about the friends you and he have.
Thank You All so very much. You have really lifted my spirits, I will be sure to let Dad know that good folks from all over have him in their prayers.

Mike, sometimes folks who have requested prayers print out the responses and take them to the person needing the prayers. Seeing the love of others for them can do wonders for someone in need of a little encouragement.
Prayers on the way. My Grandpa went in for a successful heart valve replacement in 1976. He was 72 at the time and the valve was supposed to last only 16 years. He died 22 years later at the age of 94 from complications of dementia and the heart valve that had never been replaced was still functioning fine. He ran his own butcher shop until he was 92 when dad had to put him in a home.
Sure we all have our time but he should rest easy because even in 12 years the technology advances quite a bit as do the doctors who use it.
After 2 long days at the hospital, yesterday for tests and a cardiac catherization and today for the surgery I wanted to let you know that Dad is resting but not out of the woods. The surgery took quite a bit longer (8+ hours vs. 5) than planned due to "calcification" of the aorta as well as the valve. The Dr. had to graft his aorta with dacron before being able to replace the valve and do a bypass on one artery. Due to the extent of the damage to the aorta they had to completely shut down all blood flow except to his head while cooling Dad way down to accomplish the task. I thank God for the gifted surgeon and staff. Dad is in ICU with the ventilator tube still in, but hopefully that will be removed tonight or early tomorrow. I thank you for your prayers and ask for them to continue.
Thank you all,
Mike
My thoughts are with your Dad, you, and your family. Glad to see that the first stage is over and he's in recovery mode now. Hopefully he'll make up for the longer than average surgery with a shorter than average recovery time. All the best.

And our prayers include you too. Hang in there, you are a good son.
Mike,
Thanks for the update. You, your dad and your family remain in my prayers. Best Regards....
Same here Mike. Still praying.

I'll keep praying for your Dad and for you.
