Re: Fly Boxes for Midges
What ever style that you purchase, be sure that it floats.
A friend of mine once tied almost 400 midges which were placed into an expensive box for a trip to the San Quan. While tying on his second midge, he "fumbled" his midge box, and it sank like a stone into the river and was swept away!
He then left the river and frequented the local shop!
That is why I carry several small, floating boxes.

Re: Fly Boxes for Midges
Danbob, I wanted to make a report on your fly box that you sent to me.
I have put flies in it from size 4 to size 28. I have tried everthing I can to make them fall out or get them to move about. I have hit the box hard with my hand, I have thrown it on the floor and the rocks at the river I have turned a leaf blower on it, I have filled it with water. no mater what I have tried the fies stay where I put them. The box is still in perfect condition even after having been bounced on the floor and the rocks.
It is also easy to remove the flies when I want to use one. Since it is clear it is also easy to see where the fly I want to remove is at.
All in all a fantastic box well worth what you will be selling them for.
I would recommed this box to any one that wants a good secure box.
It is small enough to fit in my vest pocket yet has room for hundreds of flies.
Folks you do not want to pass this one up. I plan on getting at least 3 more. John
