jalama,
WE believe you! :D
Me and MFTG were steelie fishing last April, on a local Lake Erie trib, when I noticed my indicator go down. I set the hook and the ensuing battle, didn't feel like a steelhead. Then the line went slack. Seconds later, a little merganser popped up in the same spot, shaking his head. Kind of sad and funny at the same time. I guess that qualifies as a quick release. lol.
I've hooked a cleaned and filleted fish in the lower jaw that someone had throw back into the deep, muddy water. Even though the fish was a hyrid which had gone about 5-6 pounds before cleaning, the fight was very poor and lacked any type genuine determination. 8T :D
8T, YOUR story is going to put you into first place!
True, I swear! My "catch" made me the laughing stock of the very crowded fishing area. One jokester suggested that I should cast back quickly to the same spot and try to catch the other half of the fish. 8T :DQuote:

Well, that took care of the humane/inhumane issue :DQuote:

Not exactly what I wanted to be remembered for! I would really prefer something like five large (and complete) fish in five casts. Fly fishermen on SC lakes don't get a lot of respect to start with and catching a filleted fish in front of a bunch of locals didn't improve that image. Just have to grin and laugh along. 8T :DQuote:
