If as you said there are more Carp than Bass why would you want to add more? Take it from a fish biologist you wouldn't be helping what you also called a stable egosystem. the Carp not being sterile would multipy faster and as I said before eat the bass eggs.

Further more they would compete against themselves and the size of the average carp may very well go down. You might increase the average size by decreasing the numbers.

I would strongly suggest contacting a state agricultural office of a private pond management service for advice on best pond management practices.

Bass will not eat trash fish...carp or goldfish? Has anyone told that to the bass?
In order to stock grass carp in my ponds that will survive bass predation they have to be a minimum of 10 inches...otherwise those bass that don't eat carp will devour them. A goldfish would have a life expectancy of less than 30 seconds in my ponds.
A LMB is not particular about so called trash fish...anything that will fit inside its mouth is fair game including unsuspecting ducks and even other LMB of near equal size.
p.s. we don't use golden shiners for the reason others have stated. BG are the best LMB forage for ponds followed closely by Tilapia, IMO.

No one ever told bass in my waters that they don't eat trash fish, either....On the other hand, there are no trash fish.

Trash fish... What a horrible term given to the world greatest sportfish.
