Yep, Zipcast doesn't ship overseas, but would be useable for sinking lines. The 303 protectant, what is it? Some kind of car interior cleaner without silicones? Anyway it's not available over here, so i try and find something similar.
Thanks,
Karel

Snowbee makes a a good product for use on sinking lines... SFLD Snowbee Fly-Line Degreaser. A friend sent me some a few years ago. Works great.

can you apply zipcast with a sock (clean) or rag if need be?
Yes, but then you'd have socks with little stripes on them.
The quick and easy way to apply it is to use small gun cleaning patches. Little ones, like for a .22 caliber gun work well. It only takes 2 or 3 drops of Zipcast to saturate the patch. Pull the line off the reel while pinching the pad around the line, flip the pad over and pinch it around the line again as you reel it in - I find it easier to do this while the reel is still attached to the rod. That's it - all done.
Using Zipcast this way will make the bottle last a VERY long time, and also makes it the most economical of the line cleaners/treatments. Keep in mind that it does wear off after a while, and you sometimes have to retreat the line during a long day of fishing to keep the line really slick. It's supposed to do that, and it won't attract dirt like silicone based cleaners (it's teflon based). It also cleans better than the old soap & water routine, and is MUCH easier and quicker.
I had the wife pick me up some heavy felt from the fabric store this last saturday. That way I can use it in a manner similiar to those little round cleaner patches that Cortland sells. An 8 x 10 swatch set me back 89 cents....and I cut it up into "about" 2" X 2" patches
I grabbed a few of my wife's cotton circles that she uses while putting on makeup. I use them with Zipcast that I use about every other trip.
My only complaint with zip cast is they charge full shipping and handling for each bottle ordered. How much can it really cost them to ship 2 vs. 1? Since I am running low, I think I will order 1 bottle and when I recieve it, I'll order another - make them earn the S & H.

I keep the felt soaked with the product i use to clean and float my flylines in my chest pack in the film cannister. I've been using the same plastic film cannister for prolly 5 or 6 years now and it's never leaked. I can clean and float my flylines even while i'm in the river that way.
