Hap great looking flies wow nice
Holey Guamole Hap!!! I feel real guilty now having spent the day doing yard work and getting my beloved '89 MR 2 out! It will take me a couple of days to take it all in! HEY! Since I'm getting some of the Artic Fox fur, will my flies turn out as well!! LOL!

I really enjoyed the flies Hap...great job!
[QUOTE=hap;419812]Three skaters... I always have a selection of large dries on salmon hooks just for the first and last cast on every pool. Silver salmon on dries is the best way to giggle outdoors that know. Bombers, frogs, wogs, and such are all good.
Aye ! That gigglin', now your talkin'.
I'll never catch a Silver or a Salmon for that matter, but I have managed a few chuckles to entertain myself when nobody was lookin'. Skating the fly is prolly my favorite way to do it.

Garry was the dog's name, also known as the Minister's Dog, Golder Dog and Yellow Dog, and probably a few more.
It was a golden retriever, tied by John Wright of Sprouston on the Tweed, whose father tied the original version of
the Greenwell's Glory. A nice batch of flies you have dressed.
Only points are photographic, they are a wee bit too large, but that may be the settings on my laptop,
and if you use a coloured card (white, pale blue, pale green etc) behind the fly, it shows more clearly.
You may think I am a grumpy old bugger, well, I am. Never mind I do like your flies.
Oh! and by-the-way there is an excellent book with some very good stories to go with the recipes
of a lot of the older flies.
"Two Hundred Popular Flies" by Tom Stewart. Not too dear, about $6.00 upwards on ABbooks.
You need a Photo Editor programme, if you search for - Photo Editor Freeware - there should be quite a few.
Your picture looks OK. Editing it to size should not be too difficult. The Editors are usually easy to use.
The cards are usually available in mixed packs at Stationary suppliers.
The book has been out quite a while and the patterns are mixed Salmon, Sea Trout and Trout.
It is no smooth, flashy production like many modern books, but is a mine of information on many older patterns.
It is well worth the fairly cheap price. (That from a Scot :D:D:D)
Coiuld not fix the size but used one of your suggestionsMy First Palmered Hackle Hairwing, I am thinking the Hackle I selected was a bit long for the hook size, I took five turns with the hackle and rib was placed on top, but overall I am pretty pleased.
