I have tyed on a Renzetti Presentation 4000 and a Master for 14 years. I never used the rotary function at all. All I used th rotary for was to turn the fly to look at the other side. I also tye flies for show and the rotary function add extra thread wraps that I hate and avoid. Also I have found ther is not enough rooms for my hands at times and tying a Clouser Minnow was a pain due to having to chnge the ars out on the vise to the Clouser Minnow arm. I origionally started out on a Thompson Model A 20 years ago and found that vise great. So it has been back to basics with a twist. I have bought the HMH Standard vise for my home tying and the HMH Spartan Orvis Edition for my show and travel vise. Just love it. The twist is that I can turn the fly to inspect the other side. Simple vise, plenty of room for my hands, Can turn the fly to inspect the other side, Can move the vise head up and down like a regal as well. Good hook holding power and when I tye large flies or midges, The jaws can be changed out in 30 seconds.
