Usually one that wears earmuffs and long johns!!
On our spring streams, you can use tiny dries all winter long! When the sun hits the warm waters, we can get the most spectacular hatches!!
I think the mid winter (February) fish-in sounds fantastic!! After we get thrown ouyt of all the flyshops around here  we can go fishing with our new toys!!
I'll start working on it!!

Betty,
Now you've got me going...."...our spring streams..."???
In KS???? I've waded and seined in almost all the major watersheds in the state and I'm aware of only a few streams that would fit the description of a Wisconsin or Missouri spring stream and I only talk about them in the non-specific vernacular of someone who doesn't want to reveal anymore information than necessary. Most are in the Flint Hills and access to those streams is very limited. A few are in the Gyp Hills and the Smokey Hills. Before center pivot irrigation became so predominant you could find a number along the Ark River drainage.
Here's a link to a resource on KS springs:

Brad,
You're right. That was a bit misleading. When I was thinking spring streams, I was thinking Crane Creek, Roaring River, Bennet Spring, and yes, they are in Missouri, but close enough that I consider them "our" spring creeks. If we did a mid winter fish-in, they could be covered on a weekend (Fri - Mon) C&R, and they do have a heck of a hatch!
I just got to thinking about hitting K&K, the Rainbow, Fishing Hole and Bass Pro, and lost all sembalance of propriety.
You'd come out wouldn't you?

I'm now less confused....
If I'm in town I'd certainly try to be there. Sounds like fun.
