Betty,
I understand!
It's been raining here for weeks, since those 'PA Fishin Guys' started their rain dance. Besides the FOOD, 'Big Daddy' may need to rent an ARK for the week.
Funny thing....... I received a phone call about 1pm. that I need an MRI (the week of the 'Fishin'.) .......... sometimes no news is good news!
Hi Bernie - We're gonna fix that in less than two weeks! Now if that Nighthawk character will show up in Waterville, we'll really get this right.
Pretty hard to be in Gettysburg and NOT be on the battlefield. Kind of freaky riding downtown and still being able to see bullet holes in the walls of buildings (and not fresh ones like in Allentown ;) ). One of my many hobbies is studying the history of the battle, so I can do a pretty decent job of tour guide. If you like Civil War history, Gettysburg is as good as it gets. We'll talk at the Fish-In (don't forget your bike).......Ed
Well, unfortunately by the time I go out to the park the winds were picking up pretty good. Since I forgot to pack the 8wt I decided to forgo fishing and to take my daily diabetic walk. What was supposed to be a two mile walk ended up being a 4+ mile hike on the park's difficult trail.
I ended up playing in a small run with a very lively 5 year old little girl and her parents teaching them about some aquatic life. We were catching red spotted newts (salamanders) and letting them go.

We were taught never to put them in our mouths and to wash our hands afterward because, in the words of a 5 year old, "Newts taste yukky". They are actually mildly toxic but calling them yukky sufficed for this little girl. A portion of my day was filled with the squeals of delight as she held several newts, released them gently into the stream and then caught two of them herself! All four of us ended up in the middle of the ankle deep run laughing and giggling.
I also stopped to talk to a fellow that was tossing a crank bait to bass in the lake. The wind was even giving him fits and all of the fish I could see were really tight against the shore. Well it turns out this fellow is a teacher at an area school but he just came back from a sabbatical to Europe. He is a language teacher who teaches several different languages. It was fun talking to him in my very limited Deutsch (German).
This proves something to me that has been discussed here several times. Sometimes the best days spent fishing are the days where we never pick up the rod.
I want to thank all of you for standing by me. I am beginning to feel better as I am now able to ramp up my physical activities more. I will not ever take any of the Statin drugs again. I would rather have good quality of life and run the risk of early death from heart disease than live in suffering and misery. What kind of life is that? Besides I have taken other natural measures to do the job of the statin drug. Next month's blood test will tell the tale on that.
Betty gave me a scare here. When I first read her post I thought she was going in for a Lobotomy! Whew!

I was going to remind you of the saying "I'd rather have a body in front of me than a frontal Lobotomy".:p
I do hope all goes well for you and all of my FAOL family.
Lobotomy? Nah, I think I had that done years ago!!
Eric,
Keine fisch geschitche .................. rats!
Ich bin unglucklich ! .................. again!
