For a salmon fly swap... tying a bunch of black prince flies right now.
For the box, adding a few more clouser minnows and planning on tying up some crawdad patterns for the local lakes.

nymphs, mallard flank tail, and wingcase, creme dubbing, grizzly wet hackle, palmered, apply, rinse, repeat.
whoa!..Ruger, great looking fly!
Hans.....the EB CDC and elk looks very promising.....one of the few "experiments" that will make it to the water.
Like the original, it's very easy to tie....take a cdc feather with long barbules and smooth them up from the base..on a light wire emerger hook, tie it in base back with a light wrap then pull the feather back thru the wrap to body length you want....make a couple of tight wraps then lift the tip and advance the thread toward the eye.....wrap the tip around the shank a few times for the legs.....tie off and add the elk hair wing. Let me know what you think......Jason

Universal fly which will work on most species. I resort to this on 'selective' fish. Difficult to tie and the materials are a little pricey.
Need to take care on you back cast in case you take out a tree or another fisherman.
