Mine were tied...starting over. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/smile.gif
I tied them in the wrong size (cuz I'm too thickheaded to read for details in the first post in the thiread).
I need the practice in smaller sizes anyways and should still have plenty of time (just need another good night or 2 of tying time).

oh shlitz!
I missed that too.
so I've agot a nearly complete set of #6 conehead favorites, a killer early season pattern, which I'll go ahead and send of anyways, but I'll also include what I call my proto nymph w/ bhs in 316 or 18.
man, you think you're getting ahead in the game and boom.

My replacements are ready to go. I tied size 12 originally because that's what I was already tying for another swap and I didn't read the original post closely enough to see the size preference. (i.e.: it's my mistake)
I redid them in size 14. I also tried size 16, but it just didn't look right so I went with 14's. I tied about 20 and picked out the best ones to send. The others will be used to entertain local fish. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/wink.gif
I still need to print and attach toe tags then I can toss them in the mail.
Here's the recipe for this batch:
Hook: Targus 5263, size 14, nymph/streamer hook
(2x heavy, 3x long)
Bead: 3/32
Thread: black 8/0 (6/0 tends to bulk the head up quickly)
Tail/Abdomen: 6-8 Pheasant Tail barbs
Rib: Fine wire counter wrapped
Thorax: 3 Peacock herls, twisted and wrapped
Hackle: furnace hen hackle
I used Pheasant Tail barbs that had been died olive this time around. Last year, I used undyed PT. Both look reasonable to me though some folks may strongly prefer one over the other.
Thanks for hosting!

My flies are in the mail as of a few minutes ago. Unfortunately, the return postage might be nine cents light. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/frown.gif
I put a pair of 37 cent stamps on the return envelope (which has always been more than enough in the past), stuffed it into the envelope addressed to you, stuffed in the flies, sealed it up...then the meter at the Post Office said I need 83 cents (the envelope to you has enough, it's the return envelope that only has 74 cents).
I figured if I didn't go ahead and toss it in the mail, I'd forget for another week or two.
I'll send a normal envelope with some spare stamps this week. I have some left over 1 cent stamps I think that can be used to top off anybody else that's light on return.
There's a chance the return envelope is fine with just 74 cents. If some of the swappers used smaller beads than I did, postage should be lower. But just in case, I'll make it right.
