Well here's a simple answer.... C, yup. If they ever get that big is a different story!
why...thought that was obvious....!!...
Stripping the line in allows for a much quicker cast into the strike zone after the release....
Admittedly a stripping basket or apron is a plus in most situations....
But unless fishing off the toon I rarely think of taking one along..
And I fight and deal with current and wind, Weeds....Ect .. Accordingly...

I'll put a big fish on the reel.If I am in the float tube, I'll put most fish on the reel to keep the line away from the fins. Once while kneeling casting upstream, I stripped in a hooked rainbow that charged downstream and jumped through the loop of line between my stripping hand and my finger on the grip! Had to hand line it in. What a tangle!

Always strip 'em in, ESPECIALLY the big ones.
Rather the fate of the fight in the hands of a skilled angler than rely on the competance of some unknown factory worker...the reel might have been made on a Monday....or, heaven forbid, a Friday!
Good Luck!

Whenever I'm fortunate enough to have a tight line, I alway strip the line in. It's just the way I learned. I feel I can retrieve line faster by stipping it in, than I can by trying to coordinate rapid small circles with my reel hand. When the fish runs, I feel like I have better drag control using both my rod with the rod hand, and the line with the line hand. I deal with the tangles after the fish comes to hand.
That's just my way. No better than anyone elses.

Hi Ripper,
I leave the decision entirely up to the
fish. If he's taking line and puts
himself on the reel, thats how I bring him
in. If he doesn't I strip him in. Warm
regards, Jim
It is up to the fish

Reel most of the time. Sorry, I never was good at polls.
