I got delayed with some red tape. It's looks like 2-3 weeks now. I'm bummed. :(Quote:

Now you know why i'm fooling with these midges here. I need something to do for a couple of weeks. Did you see i'm getting a Hexagraph? Any thoughts about it?
btw What about those #32 hooks? How do they hold a fish? I can't believe how small a #20 is.
32's actually hold a fish very well. they are so tiny, they don't spit them out. By the way, I use 6X on my 32's but I make a very small loop for the knot so they can still wiggle.
As far as the Hexagraph rods. I have seen one and heard of them off an on. Nothing real big about them so you will have to let me know first hand. I did think it was a bit on the heavy side, but with the right reel...... 8)
Sort of between a graphite and bamboo. Mine weighs 3.6 oz which is lighter than my last bamboo and about the weight of an old Scott G. What i'm after is a nice relaxed slow cast. It's hard to do that with a rod that's too light. For me anyway.Quote:

Gramps,
You'll love the Frog Hair. I have been using their supple butt tappered leaders for a few years now and love the way it turns a fly over.
HEY FLY GODDESS - would love to see a picture of the fly...I'm tying the Zebra Midge pattern (from the FAOL archive) on a 24, and would love to try it on 28 or smaller, but can't find the hooks locally.
Do yo have a pic of your pattern? and I never thought of purple thread for the body! I have a whole spool of it that's just sitting up on my bench!
Can you see those flies on the water?
I can! They are about a size 42...not a 32!!! But the fish around here feast on them surise to sunset...you can always see the fish feeding on the surface (not subsurface) and it's hard to tell what it is until one gets close you it flies past your face then you go "AH-HA!!!!"...followed shortly by "OH NO!!!!"
Life would be much easier if they would only eat 12 & 14 Elk hairs! But again - it saves us from sprained wrists from constantly having a fish on...so you have to appreciate their consideration.
