Let's put it this way. I don't want a $400+ vise. That is what I was talking about. Sub $250 would do fine....maybe.

I have two vices the Dyna-King Kingfisher pedestal and the DanaVice rotary clamp on. I use my Dyna-King the most as I mostly tie smaller dry and wet flies sizes 12 to 20 and really like how my left hand rests on the vice as I hold the material I?m tying onto the hook.
On the other hand you can?t beat the value of the Dana rotary vice which I use for tying larger flies such as Wooly Buggers and saltwater flies, streamers, etc. The Dana rotary vice is a bit bulky but it is light and travels well.
Both vices are very inexpensive for the high quality of the vice.
I enjoy tying flies almost as much as going fishing,

renzetti presentaion 4000 will suit you well and will be the last vise that you will need to buy. Holds hooks from 4/0 to 28. Great looking vise that is highly dependable and rotary. Sorry guys but the danvise and the peak vise are low level and you get what you paid for. Any vise that has to be modified and or becomes wobbly over a period of time should be a warning sign to stay away.
I agree with Renzetti as I have been using one for a quarter of a century or better. I have replaced the O ring TWICE...that is it, and I use it at least two days a week, even if only for one fly. But, I can put a 2/0 streamer with no problem and then a #32! I do this at all the shows to prove hoe great this vise is.
I do prefer the Thumb screw jaws for the bigger HAIR flies as I have been known to bump the cam...LOL
But I have the Traveler that came with the clamp so the shaft is longer, I really like that. Then I bought an after market base for like $10.
3 and a half!!!!!
Looked at all the Nor Vise videos. While it seems very nice, by the time I get the accessories I will need, I think it might be a bit much, money-wise. I like it's relative simplicity though. $300 + $50 for the bobbins and such. Ahhh, I don't know.
The search continues. Renzetti is next on the list.
I believe a Renzetti would be a good choice. However, I prefer the Presentation 3000 over the cam jaw models.
Would suggest you look at their website
Think I've come to this choice:
1) The ultimate simplicity of the Regal non-rotary.
2) The relatively simple, yet extremely versatile Nor-Vise.
