Splitditch,
Kids and I had a great time bringing her back to life from the heap at a local school donation lot fund raiser. Paid around $60 dollars. The pram was a lost cause but the rigging and sail were in great shape. Glass and paint around added another $40. Blood, sweat and tears $priceless. We are very proud of the outcome. Pricing one of these babies "used" is around a grand and new one is around 5 grand fully rigged.
Jim,
Can I recommend the paddling section to be called "Paddles and Oars". There are some gorgeous wooden prams and rowboats out there that have been known to carry a person waving a stick.

Great Photo's and stories. My three son's (grade school age) built a MckEnzie wooden drift boat of plywood and like Wend. Cast painted it with what we had. It became the blue boat, why blue, that is what paint was on sale at the marine store. We used the boat up until the boys went off to college or the service ot as one did away on his sailboat. A friend eyed the boat one day and since it sat dormant for almost 8 years it was time for it to be reserected. I don't miss it but I only miss the adventure with the boys. Keep boat'n with the kids, your building memories that will last a life time.
